That Damn Alex!

It’s pretty crazy how revenge can motivate us, eh?

I was reading a book yesterday (yes, I read books) and the author was talking about something pretty damn interesting.

He said that people have the hardest time trying to convince their friends and families to do the things they probably SHOULD be doing anyways, but those same people are CONVINCED to do the dumbest things by people they barely know.

Here’s what I mean:

Say you think your brother should stay in on this night and finish his big project for class, because this is his big junior year of high school and the year that it’s most important to get great grades for colleges. But on the flip..

..his boys just called him and told him about this party going on tonight and that chick Traci he’s been working on for a while now is gonna be there..

Which on do you think he’s going to choose?


He’s gonna be hitting on that damn Traci and kicking it with his boys so hard tonight, you’ll feel the ground vibrate ten miles away.

And you’d probably do the same thing (I know I would..)..

But WHY?

It’s so damn obvious to US that he should stay in, work on his project and get a really good grade on it.. yet.. he doesn’t.

Instead, he goes out.

Parties it up.

There are gonna be more parties.. There are gonna be more girls..

He knows this like we know it.

But it doesn’t matter.

Instead, he goes out.

And the question is WHY?

Why does your hypothetical brother (and all other people for that matter) do the thing that’s totally illogical..the thing that he’s seduced into, by a girl he BARELY KNOWS, while he totally spits in the face of someone he LOVES and ignores the OBVIOUS thing he should do?

Well, the truth is this..

..I haven’t finished the book yet, so I’ll let you know in next week’s journal. I’ll make it EXTRA-SPECIAL GOOD for you too because this one was the teaser.

Also, I was in Vegas somewhere in there too recently. I obviously can’t remember…
